Queenadreena were formed by iconic vocalist Katie Jane Garside (described by Courtney Love as one of the original "riot grrls") and guitarist Crispin Gray (great nephew of John Gray, the inspiration for "Dorian Gray" by Oscar Wilde). The line up is completed by Welsh speaking bassist Nomi and Portuguese drummer Bambi. Queenadreena have released three studio albums in the past and toured extensively in the UK, Japan and Europe, playing with, amongst others, The Cramps, Bush, Killing Joke, Garbage, Incubus, Henry Rollins, The 80's Matchbox B-Line Disaster and Marilyn Manson (who has at times described QA as one of his favourite bands). They continue to excite and challenge audiences everywhere they go with their startling and highly original live act. There is truly no one quite like them. The new album is called Djin (pronounced "gin"), which refers to a spirit sometimes represented by a black cat. Djins are supernatural creatures which possess free will, either good or evil. Some are said to lead humans astray - ones that whisper into your soul and tell you to give into your desires. This album is the best Queenadreena have done so far, finally capturing their exceptional live performance in a studio setting. Queenadreena storm through twelve new songs that constantly surprise from one to the next. From all out rock & roll to mesmeric drones and (almost) balladry, Djin is a stunning effort.
