This soundtrack CD features live and studio recordings from the first four Dr Feelgood albums and from the 'Going Back Home' Kursaal Show from 1975. Additionally it has 3 tracks from two acts that influenced and encouraged them - Johnny Kidd & The Pirates with guitarist Mick Green who shaped Wilko's playing style, and local band The Paramounts (who would one day reconvene as Procol Harum) with singer Gary Brooker and guitarist Robin Trower. The Oil City Confidential soundtrack captures all of the great musical moments from 'the best local band in the world'. And just as Canvey Island's old timers talk of past local events as having occurred either 'before the flood' or 'after the flood', one could theorise today about various styles of rock music originating either 'before of after Dr Feelgood', such was the sea change the group's historic emergence brought about.
